The Black Root Rot in Pinus radiata, Pseudotsuga menziessii and Juglans nigra in forest nurseries shows the followings symptoms: destruction of middle roots and principal root rot and finally the death of the plants when they reach 0,30 to 0,50 m. height. These symptoms differ hom those of Damping-off in that the affected plants look more vigorous and remain ereer after they die. When isolated in laboratory we found Fusarium spp. was the principal agent that produced Black Root Rot in Temuco, Peñuelas, Chillán and Bosque Santiago forest nurseries. |
