An isolation of BYDV affecting the oat cv. Nehuén in the north central zone of Chile was purified and compared with other luteo viruses. The parcially purified virus had a yield of 0.72 mg/kg of fresh tissue and an absorbance spectrum with an average A260/280 ratio of 0.89, with a maximun at 274 nm and a minimum at 254 nm. According fo the Enzyme-Linked lnmunosorbent Assay (ELISA), this solation is of the “PAV-like” kind and is similartothe one found in the states of Indiana and Washington. |
