A Muscat of Austria vineyard, located at La Silleta, Ovalle province, IV Region, showed severe iron chlorosis symptoms, which were decreasing yield. Iron EDDHA and sulphate were applied, in the spring 1979, to the soil, the pruning cuts or the foliage, in three different tnials, respectively. Three plants plots were stablished in a complete randomized design, with three replications. Fe soil treatments increased apical leaves ChylI a, berries’soluble solids, cluster weight, and yield per plant. Chelate was more effective than sulphate in raising Chyll a level and yield. Pruning cuts applications did not affect the aboye parameters. Foliar sprays also increased ChylI a in apical leaves, berries’soluble solids, cluster weight, and yield per plant. Chelate was more effective than sulphate in raising ChylI a during the 1979/80 season and spring 1980. |
