Trials carried out at the Puyehue Experimental Field, Cañete (Lat. 37º54’ S), showed that: (1) Peragoid, a variety susceptible to leaf rust, reduced severely grain production due to this disease, compared to Nehuén, which is resistant, that was not affected in grain yield, by this rust; (2) early varieties, like Nehuén, must be planted between June and August; and (3) late varieties, Iike Peragold, must be sown during May and June, to obtain high grain yields. |
