A dynamic model of nitrogen metabolism in higher plants was developed. The model represents a summa- ry of what is known about the real system. The model has an integrative, hierarchic structure, with enzyme pathways at the lowest level of organization, and plar growth at the highest. The model simulates nitrogen uptake and its assimilation into aminoacids. It also estimates photosynthesis and respiration. Plant growth is calculated as a function of amino acids and sugar supply. The model consists of a set of differential.equations, written in FORTRAN. |
