ABSTRACT
ANALYSIS OF SIX-PARENT DIALLEL SET OF OAT CROSSES

Luis Barrales Vega1

Genetical analysis for a complete diallel cross of six oats inbred lines was carried out for the traits mature plant height, number of days to heading, groat oil percentage and groat protein percentage.
The methodology used was that originally presented by Jinks and Hayman (1953).
The analysis showed that nonallellic genic interactions played an important role for the three first variables. All the traits were controlled largely by additive gene action an parcial dominance was presented for the two first traits and overdominance for the last one.
High heritability values were found for mature plant height, number of days to heading and groat oil percentage.
