ABSTRACT
INFLUENCE OF POTASSIC FERTILIZATION (CHLORIDE AND SULFATE) ON HAIRY VETCH NUTRITION

José D. Opazo A.1, Manuel Gómez O.2 y Eduardo Esteban V.3

The experiment has been carried out in Mitscherlich pots with a clay loam, red brown calcareous soil, pH .8, using hairy vetch as indicative plant (Vicia villosa Roth) .
The highest level of applied phosphorus (200 Kg/ha P2O5) had a significant effect on the plant growth.
Potassium chloride had a greatereffect on the dry matter than potassium sulphate hut there were no significant responses to thedoses of potassium and the interaction of both elements (P and K).
The results suggest the existence of an antagonism P-K and a sinergism P-N.
Potassium salt type and doses did not result in a significant increase of nitrogen content.
Applied potassium chloride increased phosphorus absorption and, on the other hand, potassium sulphate raised potassium absorption. The maximum amount of added potassium determines and excesive absorption of this element that is not reflected on plant growth.
