A nutritional survey was conducted in 50 irrigated peach orchards of Aconcagua valley. Varieties studied were: Pomona, Reina Elena, Fortuna, Early Elberta and RÃo Oso. Ninety four samples of recently matured leaves were taken from current season growth, 100-125 days after fullbloom. The contents of N, P, Ca, Mg, Fe, Zn, Cu, Mn, K and B in the leaves were determined. Soil samples were analysed for pH, organic matter, electric conductivity (salts), texture, available P, Ca, K, Mg, Na and carbonates. Deficiencies of N, Zn, K and Mn were found, but those of N and Zn were the most important. The level of all other nutrients was found to be adequate. |
