the work of determination and of consultation of types of Curculionidae led in the course of time the verification of numerous synonumies and new combinations which are detailed in these pages, which refer especially to Chilean species. Ten new genera are created; a like number are placed in synonymy, and two are reduced to the rank of subgenera. The new synonymies of species reach 70 and even a higher number is reached by new combinatins; four species are revalidated; and one new specific names is proposed.
