Two consecutive field trials to analize the effects of windshields and irrigation on potato yield (cv Desiree) were set at San Gregorio (52°34'S), XII Region (Chile), during 1993-1994 seasons. Plots were assigned to windshield and sub-plots to irrigation under a split-plot desing with four replication. Results for the first season showed that windshields raised yield from 7.8 to 22 ton/ha, whereas irrigation produced 38 tons/ha. A further increase to 45 ton/ha due to the interaction irrigationwindshiels was no significant. According, the second trial proved that under irrigation yield was 43ton/ha with a non significant rise to 49 ton/ha due to the the combined effects of irrigation and windshields. |
